Application for United Way of the Plains’ Aaron Joel Smith Youth Volunteer Memorial Scholarship open through January 31, 2025
WICHITA, Kan., Nov. 14, 2024 – Each year, the Aaron Joel Smith Memorial Youth Volunteer Scholarship rewards three high school students who actively volunteer in their community. Scholarships are awarded in the amounts of $25,000, $15,000 and $10,000.
Eligibility
- This scholarship is open to residents of Sedgwick, Butler, Barber, Cowley, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Pratt, Sumner and Reno counties.
- The applicant must be a junior or senior in high school.
- The applicant must have volunteered a minimum of 200 hours outside of school and organizations/societies that require volunteerism.
Director of Community Impact Logan Bradshaw reflects on the program, “The Aaron Joel Smith Memorial Scholarship provides a fantastic opportunity for high school students to showcase their contributions to their community and be rewarded for their efforts.”
