Women United

Women United celebrates the power of women to bring about positive change in our community through philanthropy and service.

Celebrate the power of women to bring about positive change in our community through philanthropy and service.

Be part of this dynamic, caring and driven group of women who are leading change through volunteerism and advocacy. Members are invited to exclusive volunteer opportunities and social events throughout the year where they are able to connect with other philanthropic women.

The Women United Read to Succeed initiative aims to help students read at grade level by the end of third grade, when students begin to transition from “learning to read” to “reading to learn.” Trained, volunteer reading coaches meet weekly with students at local elementary schools for 20-30 minutes to listen to them read and provide intervention tactics to improve their reading skills.

MEET THE STEERING COMMITTEE

The Women United steering committee meets monthly to provide direction and support. They help plan and implement volunteer projects and social events that support their mission to encourage children to learn to read on grade level by the end of third grade.
