Jillian Castaneda has joined the team at United Way of the Plains
United Way of the Plains welcomed Jillian Castaneda to the team today. Castaneda has been hired as a Crisis Housing Specialist. In her new role, she will work as part of the Coordinated Entry System (CES) team reporting to the Community Impact Manager for Basic Needs. This position is funded by Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) to specifically assist Kansans leaving state hospitals and other mental health facilities who are experiencing homelessness to find and stay in housing in the community.
Castaneda has been an outpatient therapist with the Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas and a case manager with the School Threat Assessment Response Team (START) with Developing Caring Communities Committed to Action (DCCCA).
A graduate of Wichita State University, she has spent her professional career working to help others. Welcome Jillian!
