Flags of Freedom

Honoring, celebrating and remembering veterans on Memorial Day

Flags of Freedom is an annual partnership between United Way of the Plains and IAM  & AW District Lodge #70 to recognize veterans over Memorial Day. 600 American flags were on display at the union offices for two weeks in May. The community was invited to participate by purchasing dedications in honor or memory of a veteran in their life. Proceeds supported United Way programs that benefit veterans, including Veterans Ride Free. Dedications will be published on this page through Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2024.
