United Way Hosts Annual Day of Action – Friday, June 20

WICHITA, Kan., June 18, 2025 — United Way of the Plains will host its 2025 Day of Action on Friday, June 20, joining a global movement of volunteers making a difference in their local communities. More than a dozen service projects will take place at across Wichita, involving over 120 area volunteers working together to uplift local nonprofits.

Media are invited to attend the event kickoff, capture volunteers in action, and join the community celebration.

Time: 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

SCHEDULE:

8:30 a.m. – Welcome located at Chicken N Pickle, 1240 N. Greenwich Rd., Wichita, KS

9:30 a.m. to Noon – Volunteer activities will take place at the following locations:

  • Botanica, The Wichita Gardens
  • Child Start
  • HumanKind Ministries
  • Kansas Aviation Museum
  • Larksfield Place
  • Rainbows United
  • Shocker Support Locker at WSU
  • The Salvation Army
  • United Way GIV Warehouse
  • Wichita Family Crisis Center
  • Wichita Habitat for Humanity
  • Wichita Indochinese Center

12:15 p.m. – Wrap-up located at Chicken N Pickle, 1240 N. Greenwich Rd., Wichita, KS
