Application for United Way of the Plains’ Aaron Joel Smith Youth Volunteer Memorial Scholarship open through Oct. 13
WICHITA, Kan., Sept. 4, 2025 – United Way of the Plains is now accepting applications for the 2025 Aaron Joel Smith Memorial Youth Volunteer Scholarship, which awards three high school students for outstanding community service with scholarships of $25,000, $15,000, and $10,000.
Eligibility
- The applicant must both attend school and live within the United Way service area, which covers Sedgwick, Butler (all ZIP codes except 67042), Barber, Cowley, Harper, Kingman, Pratt, and Sumner Counties, and the following ZIP codes: 67025, 67035, 67068, 67108, 67135, 67147, and 67154.
- The applicant must be a senior in high school.
- The applicant must have volunteered a minimum of 200 hours outside of school and organizations/societies that require volunteerism.
“Through the Aaron Joel Smith Memorial Scholarship, high school students have the chance to shine a light on their community involvement and be honored for the difference they’re making,” said Logan Bradshaw, Director of Community Impact.
